[He is indeed on his morning runs, because why not? It's a busy morning, everyone a little more lively after the straight up wasteland of yesterday. Anon, for his part, has been lively the whole time, wriggly as an eel and a little waterlogged too. He probably ran into the surf at some point.
He puts up a hand in a pleasant wave when he spots Ann along his path back from the edge of the forest.]
Well, I'm almost done the whole island, so it's just around the mansion and down to the docks again and that's it!
[So actually a pretty leisurely sort of jog more than anything. That's the pace he's at right now, anyway, and he stops obligingly to nab the water, happily pouring some on his head before downing the rest.
He also gives Mokona a wave, he probably met the creature yesterday during the afterparty, which I also need to tag.]
Hahaha, you can just work up the appetite for more cake if you join me! We haven't had as much of it lately.
[Did they really run out of birthdays already. Do they need to start making up more.
He does a little jogging motion in place, waiting for Ann to get ready before taking off at a decent cool-down pace. At least she doesn't have to really try to keep up with him.]
[who needs a birthday to have cake? Ann has a piece of cake almost every day, but especially on Fridays!
But after a brief stretch, she takes off after Anon.
She's not superhuman in her running, but also it's pretty obvious, she's generally in pretty good shape, despite her aversion to running long distances with him.]
[His cake days are covered because he's literally carrying a cake SCP, but also sometimes he has to add cake to the cake dimension himself. It's a containment duty (maybe). Friday is, of course, always a great excuse for any number of things, but especially here.
He tilts his head to grin at her once she catches up, looking pleased with the company and the scenery and just generally having a good time this fine Sunday.]
The breeze always feels great on Sundays, and the food even tastes better.
Everything always kind of tastes better after a good fight.
I'm not sure how much of a fight we put up back there, but it's probably good enough that we came out on top the usual way.
[He sounds vaguely musing about it, as though thinking over what ice cream flavor he'd like next; ice cream is another thing in seeming short supply on this island, after all.]
Well, she's appealing to the base nature of all people! Everyone wants a wish, everyone wants to change things, and all of that. She probably has a line going at this point.
[Wow, maybe pretend to have a little more faith. Of course, he's not going to bother; his pace is still steady as he chatters away, as though it's a regular Sunday topic.]
So I feel like in terms of just reacting to how good she is at what she does, it could be worse.
I don't know, I think that if you want something badly enough, you'll pretty much pay any price. That's how living things work. That's what this whole Game is about, isn't it?
[All of them and Watanuki paying the price for Yuuko's face, or whatever. It's kind of dumb the more you think about it, even if there's probably more to it. He does not seem to be out of breath at all, but they are also almost at the dock, luckily for Ann.]
I think we're getting better! Nirrti's going to reveal more of her hand and then WHAM! We can spear her the way she did to us.
Hahaha, you don't want to get her back for all that crazy stuff she did last weekend?
[Anon seems both politely baffled by this and kind of amused.
And yeah, full #yolo but he's just going to splash straight into the surf without even pausing. He probably does this a lot on his runs. There's plenty of clothes to spare and there's no saving some of it from the sand anywho.]
What was it you said, you're going to steal her treasure or something...
A treasure is the most important thing to someone, right? I always thought that was usually their life, but maybe it's different for Witches?
[He cocks his head at Ann from below the dock, a little ways deeper, and then shakes out his bangs a little when they flop into his eyes. Definitely kind of like a large dog.]
If you can change Nirrti's heart -- well, you'd probably have to find it first. I'm pretty sure!
[She's got that whole heartless cacklelife thing going on, after all.]
None of that is right. Sure, there are people who value their lives above anything, but most of the time, your most important treasure's something different. And if you're a witch, I bet that's triple true.
A Witch's life is pretty different, but what other kinds of treasures are there? I don't think I really get what they are...
[He's too much of a straightforward sort of guy for all these metaphysical concepts at morning o'clock on a Sunday, y'all. They just spent yesterday trying to get a Witch to make sense and stop turbo-stabbing them and only succeeded by the skin of their teeth (again).]
Or what kind of entrance you're looking for. A treasure is a place?

Ann! Are you joining me this time?

[she holds out the bottle of water, while mokona cheers him on from his perch on her head.]

Ann considers. Well, she's in a pair of tennis shoes. She could probably manage that]
Alright. That much, I can join you on. I've been eating too much cake anyway.

What do you think?

Besides "thank god the week's almost over."
[but realistically, sunday was the furthest away from Saturday, so it makes sense.]

[said simply, but honestly. still refreshing, if concerning.]
But okay. Maybe we're sort of effective, who knows?
[though the longer they run, the less able she is to have a conversation while running. Running is hard! And she's not a runner]

But that's different from spearing her. It's a punishment... through a change in heart!

It's... not that straightforward, unfortunately.

This treasure hunt just keeps getting more and more complicated...
