[You know, the kitchen's not a bad idea after all of that excitement and what seems to have been an endless meeting that went to a lot of places. Sometimes when you get blindsided by an alarming ghost and a bunch of revelations you just get hungry.
So here Anon is, passing her in the kitchen and blinking for a moment. He looks from the cake to her and looks distinctly unsurprised. There's a quirk of a smile.]
You really do like sweet things, huh? What kind of cake is there?
Hahaha, I better do that before it's all gone. Though I get this feeling like we're going to be seeing a lot of cake, lately. Spring, you know.
[Spring, the time of children,, birthdays, and banging, though it's debatable whether he's thought that far.
Anon, for his part, is hanging out by the counter and definitely contemplating the dessert that Ann is describing in such unfair detail. He takes a little while, and it's seemingly to decide on the portion, because he takes a bit, fat piece without any remorse.]
I dunno. I was gonna eat this, and then I think I was gonna head to the dock. The water's nice, and right now it's probably the simplest place on the island.
Then maybe I'll yell. It seems like a good time for that.
[There are pretty much no traces of the earlier bookish disaster for all of them, because Anon is himself; but there is a restlessness to him that's just a notch higher than usual, something buzzing under his skin that doesn't quite settle even though the dessert is quite good and the company is fine too.]
I didn't think I'd end up with another beach party so soon. I guess I'll be an expert by the time this is done!
[What else is there to do on the island, really....... other than murder.]

[it's covered in fruit and a sort of light, whipped frosting.]

[He pulls up alongside after taking an experimental bite, apparently up for following her.
Did this trip just get a little less simple. Oh well.]
